The mission of Valparaiso High School is to challenge all students to achieve grade-level mastery as defined by district and state standards. To ensure this outcome, the school community is committed to providing a comprehensive system of support in a safe, orderly, academic environment.
VHS VISION STATEMENT:
VHS accepts its mission as a comprehensive public high school. The students, faculty, administration, staff, and the community agree to support and pursue the following visions:

Valparaiso High School has been awarded College Board's Female Diversity Award for AP Computer Science A! Schools receiving this award have expanded young women's participation in the course and closed the gender gap among students.

Valparaiso High School is a Champions Together School. Champions Together is a collaborative partnership between the Indiana High School Athletic Association and Special Olympics Indiana. |

Gymnastics is the IHSAA State Champion and Unified Track is the runner up to the IHSAA State Champion for the 2022-23 school year!

Boys Golf, Girls Golf, Girls Track and Gymnastics are Duneland Athletic Conference Champions for the 2022-23 season. |

Valparaiso High School has successfully earned the designation of Progressing for the Family Friendly Schools by the Indiana Department of Education for 2023-2024.

The Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) has designated Valparaiso High School a Purple Star School. Schools receiving the Purple Star designation are awarded for their significant display of commitment to service members, veterans and students and families connected to our nation’s military.

Valparaiso High School has been named a 2024 AP School Honor Roll Gold member for developing an AP program that creates a college-going culture and gives students opportunities to earn college credit and to maximize their college outcomes. VHS is also honored with the 2024 AP Access Award for ensuring AP coursework is equally available to students no matter their backgrounds. |
