It's that time again to decide on the cover art for the program for "This is Our Story" annual art and music show. The covers were designed by Ms. Ruiz's Drawing I class. Vote for your favorite, and the top 2 will then be selected to be printed on the program cover the first and and second night of the show. Click the title for more info and the link to vote.

The 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program, conducted by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation(NMSC), is an annual academic competition to recognize and honor the academically talented students of the United States. Students are chosen based on PSAT/NMSQT selection index scores. Approximately 16,000 of the high scorers, representing less than 1 percent of the nation’s high school graduating seniors, qualify as semifinalists. These students have the opportunity to advance in the competition for some 6,870 merit scholarship awards. In order to be considered for a Merit Scholarship award, Semifinalists must fulfill several requirements to advance to the Finalist level of the competition. About 95 percent of the Semifinalists are expected to attain Finalist standing, and approximately half of the Finalists will win a National Merit Scholarship. The following VHS students qualify as National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists:
David Feria, Daniel Gibson, Christopher Gorseski and Paxton Prybell. We are so proud of you all!

Griffin Dennis, Julia Foster, Samantha Molengraft, William Orban, Austin Sabec, Reagan Williams and Amy Yu have been named commended students in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program. About 34000 commended students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Congratulations to you all!

VHS Picture Day Info!
Seniors: Sept 16th and 17th
All pictures will be taken in Upper Stem.
The first half of the alphabet will follow the attached schedule to take their photo on Monday (9/16), and the second half of the alphabet will follow the attached schedule to take their photo on Tuesday (9/17). There is time at the end of both days for students who couldn't make their scheduled time. ALL SENIORS MUST TAKE THEIR PHOTO WITH HR IMAGING TO BE IN THE YEARBOOK; THEY ARE NOT REQUIRED TO BUY ANYTHING.
Underclass Retakes will take place on Nov. 4th, 7:40am-3pm.
Senior Picture Retakes will take place on Nov. 12th, 7:30am-3pm.

Parent/Guardian Open House
Parent Night will take place on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 beginning at 5:30 p.m. The schedule for this event is attached and the building may be accessed using Doors 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, 21, 31, 32, and 33. Parents and guardians are encouraged to come in, meet their student’s teachers, and experience what their student’s schedule is like.
