Freshmen Orientation

Welcome to VHS class of 2024.

We know that this transition to high school is an essential step on the road to success. As a result, we are offering the following opportunities to assist the transition process:

Freshmen Orientation (in-person)

Our Viking Freshmen/New Student Orientation program for incoming freshmen and new students to VCS will be held in-person on Tuesday, August 11th from 7:56-11:20. During this orientation, students will meet VHS Administrators, Counselors, Social Workers, Cafeteria workers and fellow VHS students. They will move through various rotations to learn more about our Viking culture and to see some of the many great opportunities offered here for our students. New students will have the chance to visit classrooms, find their lockers, and meet some of their teachers. VHS’s very own TEAM L.E.A.D. will have student representatives present and available to assist new students.

Virtual Orientation

Our Viking Freshmen/New Student Orientation will be available virtually as well this year. We encourage all parents and incoming students to click on the links here to view our many resources available to our students. Parents and new students will be able to take a video tour of the building; listen to introductions from our school counselors and social workers, and much more. Additionally, VHS will upload recorded versions of the breakout sessions from the in-person Orientation held August 11th. Those will be uploaded following the conclusion of that orientation. We hope this information will answer questions that you might have about daily life at VHS.
